System Overview


A hydroelectric power station is a hydraulic device that converts water energy into electrical energy. It is composed of various hydraulic structures, as well as mechanical and electrical equipment such as power generation, substation, and power distribution, forming an organic complex that cooperates with each other and works in coordination. The use of a DCS distributed control system can effectively manage and control the operating data of a hydroelectric power station. By collecting control data in real time and completing calculations and analysis, it can generate alarm information for abnormal situations and conduct timely control and adjustments.

The design of the power station's electrical protection, system shaft system, plant DC, plant power, and the factory's complete excitation and water turbine speed control systems should be made around the characteristics of the DCS control system and small and medium-sized hydropower stations. The single ring composed of CISCOM7120 industrial Ethernet switches at each LCU is coupled with the ring of the monitoring center to form a multi-ring topology structure. The product meets the stable and reliable application requirements under industrial level 4 anti-interference. The network has real-time acquisition functions, scalability, high reliability, high bandwidth, high-quality network signal transmission, and redundant backup.
