Transmission Line Online Detection System

System Overview

Transmission lines are an important part of the national power grid. Due to the large span of transmission lines, which usually span hundreds of kilometers, they are very susceptible to various environmental influences and power supply failures. Therefore, it is necessary to monitor the operating status of transmission lines regularly. At present, manual line inspection is generally used to meet this requirement. However, the transmission lines have large vertical and horizontal spans and complex distribution terrain; there are many types of line status parameters, and many links are not easy to be discovered manually, so the line status cannot be grasped in time. Therefore, an automatic, accurate, and real-time monitoring method is needed to realize all-weather online monitoring and management of the transmission line status. The online detection system of transmission lines mainly detects the ambient temperature, humidity, wind speed of the transmission lines, the icing, temperature, and dancing of the conductors, the inclination of the towers and other parameters.

COME-STAR Solution

System Requirement:

1) Meet the requirements of reliable and stable long-distance data transmission;

2) Adopt industrial-grade design to meet the working requirements under extreme temperatures;

3) Adopt isolation protection design for power supply and port parts, and still work reliably under strong electromagnetic interference.

Solution:

COME-STAR adopts 4G/5G communication and accurate monitoring and analysis methods to meet the application requirements of online detection systems for power transmission lines. It monitors the ambient temperature, humidity, wind speed, icing, temperature, dancing of conductors, inclination of towers and other parameters of power transmission lines in real time. It can monitor the status of high-voltage transmission lines and substation insulators operating in harsh atmospheric environments online to ensure the safe operation of transmission lines. The data acquisition terminal is responsible for collecting the values of these sensors and outputting these collected values through the serial port. The wireless data transmission terminal transmits these data to the central server through the 4G/5G private network. The central server processes and analyzes the received data to grasp the specific conditions of the transmission lines at each monitoring point and make corresponding preventive or emergency treatments.
